Frequently Asked Questions

What mediums do you work with?

Graphite, Charcoal, Acrylic Paint, Colored pencils, Alcohol Markers, Digital.

How do you price your work?

Material cost, my current hourly rate and size of the piece determine the final price for any work that I do.

How much do materials cost?

This is determined on a piece by piece basis, as materials and size vary for each client.  That being said, I'll do my best to get you the best material cost without sacrificing material quality.

Why do you require payment up front?
This solves a few issues for me. This helps me secure materials to get your piece started, and unfortunately, some clients just don't pay on time. You don't work for free, and neither should I.
Working as a freelance artist already brings the challenge of an inconsistent flow of capital, and this ensures I don't have to nag you to pay me when your piece is done.
This helps smooth out the process overall, and keeps me from feeling like an IRS robo caller.

I'm on a budget.
Everyone is. Email me and we'll work something out.

How long does it take to do my piece?
This depends on a few factors.  One being the size of the piece, larger or more intricate pieces obviously may take longer.
I may have a few commissions ahead of you, this may also factor into the length of time it takes to get your piece.
I will do my very best to give you the most accurate estimate when we start the project.

How much is shipping? Can I pick up my piece?
Shipping will be determined when you commission the piece. Shipping prices vary depending on where you live.
Live nearby? Sure make arrangements with me to pick up your piece when its available.

I'd like changes to my piece, is that possible?
Yes, I will make changes to your piece within reason(i.e. don't ask me to repaint the entire piece).
I will limit changes to 2 per piece before I start charging extra.
Every piece is different and my goal is to provide you with satisfaction.

I hate your art style!
Not really a question or comment I get, but something I would like to touch on.
If you are hiring me for a piece of art, I expect that you are familiar with my body of work.
Every artist has their own style, I am no exception.
I give every piece I create 100% of my best effort, and my goal is to deliver my best work every time.
If you are not familiar with my body of work, please take a look at what I have to offer on this site and on my social media accounts.
With all that being said, If my art style isn't for you, that's OK.
I have plenty of friends a colleagues that might be a great fit for you, and I would be happy to refer you to them.
Everyone wins in that situation.

Do you work for free?

Nope. Does your Doctor work for free? Plumber? Uber driver? Contractor?

Nope.  Artists spend time learning and honing their skills just like any other professional, and expect to be paid for their work like everyone else.
